Dinosaurus VS Allen.
A page from INVINCIBLE 89, this page was tough to figure out a dynamic pose and composition. I was looking at fighting magazines and drawing all these specialized moves but it just wasn’t working out. I ditched the magazines and the few drawings I did and started fresh. I just drew what I felt and had fun with it and it worked out pretty quickly. Sometimes ya gotta just go with your gut. And...
INVINCIBLE 92 cover.
Pencils to inks for my part of the cover. The bottom part, seen in the color version, is drawn by Cory Walker! This issue will be awesome! Cory will be drawing some pages as well for this, it shall be glorious! And the radical colors are by none other than John Rauch. Ryan Original Article

linternez asked: i never seen such a 3D render on a comic drawing, seems like you form the clay instead of drawing into a flat surface and Rauch colors completely hits that side of your art. it's just a natural attitude or you pay attention on masses construction on the layout phase? almost all the artists try to give a real feeling instead of a "solid" feeling to their drawings, it's a rare...
farfartothewestofeverywhere asked: so how do you go about drawing space? i'm sure you'ved answered this before, but i missed it if someone did. I remember when I took art lessons as a kid we did watercolor and I would use dots of wax, then paint over it...but you can't do that with penciling or inking. Just curious. Loved the last issue, of course :)
INVINCIBLE 88 page 8 Pencil to ink!
Another page from issue 88, pencils to inks! Had fun re-designing Robot here, well not really re-design, just updated for space combat. In the script it said to have Robot subduing Mark, I thought instead of him just flying up and grabbing him that some electric looking power rope thingies that he’d fire at Mark and wrap around him would be cooler. I don’t think they should be called...
INV88 page 11 pencil to ink process.
INVINCIBLE 88 came out this week! Here’s a process page, I inked my own pencils for this issue. So here’s what my pencils look like before I throw inks on top. I ink with a Kuretake and/or Pentel brush pen. And some Staedtler pens, only sizes I use are 005, .01, and .03. Background stars are added in Photoshop, no I didn’t stipple out all those stars! That’d be a huge pain...

INVINCIBLE 87 page 1-3
Here’s my pencils to the 1st 3 pages of issue 87. I inked the last 7 pages of this issue so I’ll show a process of pencil to ink soon. For these pages I did a little re-design of Omnipotus, my first design way back in issue 27 looked a little rusty. So I just updated him a bit, he’s a pretty fun dude to draw. Ryan Original Article
